Ron Wright Lake Arlington Branch
The Ron Wright Lake Arlington Branch has a decent children's section, though it is not separated from the rest of the library. There are not any toys for kids other than the kits to check out. They have several computers for kids to use and sitting areas to read to children. The community room for programs is towards the back of the library and has a fun fish window. There is a fish tank with step stools for kids to look at the fish up close.
The stereotype of libraries being a quiet place is also outdated. Children are welcome to talk and have fun in the children's section at libraries! Don't worry about them making noise.
The Southwest branch usually has a family storytime on Monday mornings. There are a few other programs for children throughout the week. You can check the programming schedule for this branch at this link. *The library takes a programming break in the months of May, June, and December so there are normally few programs offered these months* There are several of their programs in the calendar under events. The summer reading program is also a great way to get kids excited about reading.
