Reby Cary Youth Library

The Reby Cary Youth Library is fantastic. You have to have a child with you to enter the library, making it exceptionally kid friendly! There are tons of books, toys, and activities to keep children entertained. Since it is for kids they can laugh and play as much as they like.

There are several different imaginative play stations including a vet clinic, grocery store, kitchen, and puppet theater. It's like a mini kids museum, but even better because it's free. The huge windows make it especially well lit on sunny days. There are hidden buttons in the bookshelves that kids can find and press to make the lights on the ceiling change color and style.

The activity room usually has craft supplies available for kids to create. There is also a lego table, coding robots, and a 3D printer for kids to use. The 3D printer is free to use, which is true for all Fort Worth branch libraries, the print simply has to finish during business hours.

They have great kits to checkout, including the coding robots, as well as other themes with toys included. If you are not a Fort Worth resident, you can get a library card for your child as a homeschool student that is good until they turn 18, you just have to renew it each year.

Eating and drinking are not allowed inside the library, but they do have a fenced in courtyard  that has benches and fake grass. There is also a small playground and pavilion with picnic tables at the opposite end of the parking lot.

There are programs just about everyday, you can find a current list by clicking this link. Even if there is not a program happening, this is still a great place to take kids! The summer reading program is also a great way to get kids excited about reading.
