River Legacy

River Legacy Park in North Arlington is an expansive park that has something for everyone. The park has extensive multi-use trails throughout the park, and is a part of the Trinity Trail system that connects Fort Worth to Dallas along the Trinity River. There are also mountain biking trails in the park. The park has a huge playground, two smaller play areas, exercise equipment, practice fields, and lots of picnicking areas.

The main playground was designed just for River Legacy to look like a treehouse and incorporates the existing trees and feel of the park. The playground has swings, climbing structures, slides, a dinosaur skeleton, and restrooms. Be aware that the ground is mulch. There is some natural shade from the trees and coverings on some of the play equipment, but during the summer it will definitely get hot. There is a restroom, but it is a couple minutes walk away. There is a large pavilion near the playground that has grills available for use. There are other pavilions also available to rent throughout the park.

The River Legacy Nature Center is at the front of the park and offers many programs and exhibits, many of which are kid friendly.

River Legacy Park is a great park to visit with lot of natural spaces and trails to roam!

Fountains are turned off in late November/early December and turned back on in late March/early April to prevent serious freeze damage.
