Webb Community Park

This playground is located next to the Beacon Recreation Center. There are actually two playgrounds, one directly next to the Beacon and one next to the recreation fields.

The playground next to the recreation fields has slides, climbing structures, musical toys, and cute little play "houses." The grounds is turf over some sort of rubber and is lovely to walk on. There are even different kinds of turf. At the bottom of the slides there is a more durable turf, there is a blue "path" turf, and most of it is covered in taller "grassier" turf. There are several picnic tables with grills and benches, as well as a pavilion nearby with picnic tables and a grill.

The turf and soft cushioning make this a great playground for all ages, from crawling babies to kids who fall down. The equipment is also suitable for all ages with smaller pieces for younger kids and the big piece is rated for kids 5-12. There is a lot of space for kids to run around and get their energy out. There are a few shades over the equipment, but not enough for hot days.

The playground next to the Beacon also has turf and several different types of playground equipment. It also has swings which are not available at the other playground.

The park has a bathroom, several soccer fields, a skate park, a basketball court, and a short in and out walking trail.

The Beacon Recreation Center is a part of the Arlington Recreation Centers and has several athletic offerings. There is also a splashpad located in the rec center. Members can use the splash pad for free, or you can purchase an $8/day pass. The splashpad is also available to rent. It is open March 1 through October 31 pending weather. Hours are Monday-Saturday 10 AM - 6 PM and Sunday 12-6 PM.

Fountains are turned off in late November/early December and turned back on in late March/early April to prevent serious freeze damage.
