It is definitely a smaller splash pad, and you can tell it has been well loved. The ground was redone recently, and it is rubber instead of cement which I think is much more comfortable and better for kids who fall frequently. The water features were also renovated. It is very popular in the afternoon and evenings. It also has the most shade over the water features out of all the Arlington splash pads. The trees around it are very tall and provide great shade, which is nice when it gets super hot in the summer. To turn it on you tap the black top on the red pole.
The splash pad is free and open 10 AM to 8 PM every day Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day Weekend and only on weekends through September. There is a pavilion with a few tables next to the splash pad, and two grills near the pavilion.
The playground is also nice and is good for various age levels. It was just replaced and is much nicer than before. There are two different pieces of playground equipment, one designed for younger kids and the other for older kids. The ground is rubber which is nice when kids go from the splash pad to the playground. There are some shades over the playground equipment, and I think they provide better coverage than most of the other parks. However the edges do still get hot. It has swings, slides, and climbing obstacles. There are a few benches around the playground and throughout the park.
They have restrooms located next to the splash pad.
They have a basketball court and a baseball practice field. They also have a walking trail that goes around the park.
Don Misenheimer is a smaller park that has some nice amenities. The splash pad definitely makes it more worth it during the summer!
Fountains are turned off in late November/early December and turned back on in late March/early April to prevent serious freeze damage.
