Cravens Park

Cravens Park is one of the most active parks I have ever seen. Even in the heat of summer there are always several people using the amenities. It is located at the beginning of the Fish Creek Trail which is convenient for anyone who wants to get there by bike or walking.

There is a nice playground with two sections for different aged children. There are some shades, but it definitely still gets hot in summer. The ground is mulch, so beware for younger children. There are swings, slides, and climbing structures. They have multiple "tire" swings that are made out of plastic. There is a large pavilion near the playground that has grills available for use.

There are several baseball fields and a concession stand that is open during games.

There is a basketball court, sand volleyball courts, and tennis courts. There are plans to add a skate park and exercise stations to the trail. There is a small pond with lots of turtles where fishing is allowed, but the water doesn't look that great so I'm not sure I'd suggest eating any fish from the pond.

The ice cream truck frequently stops at the park during the summer at different times, so be prepared for your kids to ask for ice cream!

Cravens Park is a great park to take children to and they will usually have plenty of other kids to play with! There are lots of things to do at the park, with more in the works.

Fountains are turned off in late November/early December and turned back on in late March/early April to prevent serious freeze damage.
