Klyde Warren Park
Klyde Warren Park in Downtown Dallas has lots of fun things for kids to do! The city of Dallas reclaimed an overpass and built this lovely park to bring back some green space to the city.
There is a fun playground in the park with climbing structures, a slide, merry-go-rounds and a water play space. The water is on year-round so be prepared for kids to get wet. The playground is fenced off from the rest of the park and has a bathroom inside the fence for families. It is a modern playground and the ground is rubber and turf which is great for kids of all ages.
There is also a lovely green lawn that would be great for picnics and running around. The park has some yard games that are free to play.
The Nancy Best Fountain is also a great attraction for kids in the park. It is located at the opposite end from the playground and runs from 8 AM – 9 PM (10 PM on weekends) when the temperature is above 40 degrees. It plays a synchronized water and music show two or three times each day, and there are lights if the sun is down. Guests are allowed to play in the fountain anytime, even during shows! There is a bathroom near the fountain which is convenient for changing wet clothes. You can check the schedule of shows here.
The park hosts lots of activities throughout the year, all of which are free! You can check the schedule of events here.
