Bad Konigshofen Family Aquatic Center
We love going to Bad Konigshofen, it has something for everyone! You're allowed to bring in your own food and drink, and they've never stopped us from bringing floats for the kids. They provide life jackets of all sizes. They have a concession stand with various food and drink items that is usually open during their normal operating hours. The diving board and two waterslides are popular, but you have to be at least 48 inches for the waterslides. They have a water fountain that sprays water and a shallow play area (18 inches) with various interactive water play items. And of course they have the regular pool which goes from 3 feet to 12 feet. They usually offer swim lessons based on lifeguard availability. There are several shaded areas as well as places to sun. They do let you rent out the pavilions for parties, prices vary based on when you want to rent them.
They have bathrooms with showers that can double as a changing room. This is probably my least favorite part of the pool, I do think maintenance could be done to make it nicer.
It does cost $8.50 for anyone over 48 inches and $8 for anyone under 48 inches, but they offer several ways to discount the prices. Thursdays are $2 off all day. Wednesday night from 6-9 PM it's half off. If you participate in the summer reading program through the Arlington library (which is free) children get a free swim pass that also discounts other family members $1. They also usually do a back-to-school splash event the last week of July and first week of August where if you bring a school supply item admission is half off for each person with an item. They also offer a swim pass that is $60/person for the whole summer. This will get you into any of the outdoor pools in Arlington. If you go enough then the swim pass is definitely worth it.
Arlington recently redid their water quality reporting system. You can check the the most recent readings by following this link: https://apps.hydroapps.com/arlingtonfm/public/dashboard.
My family has had a lot of fun going here in the summer, and it is definitely a great way to beat the Texas heat!
