Southeast

This branch is fairly big for a branch library and has a great children's section. The children's section is separate from the rest of the library. Though the double doors remain open, it is easy to corral children since there is only one door to watch. They have a toy table where they cycle through different kinds of blocks and cars. There is a puzzle table with various difficulty levels of puzzles. They have 4 computers for kids to use with various games. There is usually a craft table at the back of the section with coloring items. There is a self-checkout in the children's section so you can check out your items before having to wrangle your kids...or your kids might love helping you check them out! There is usually a craft table at the back of the section with coloring items. It's a nice place to bring kids and know they are contained.

The stereotype of libraries being a quiet place is also outdated. Children are welcome to talk and have fun in the children's section at libraries!

The Southeast branch usually has a toddler time on Wednesday mornings and a family storytime on Friday mornings. There are a few other programs for children throughout the week. You can check the programming schedule for this branch at this link. *The library takes a programming break in the months of May, June, and December so there are normally few programs offered these months* There are several of their programs in the calendar under events. The summer reading program is also a great way to get kids excited about reading.
