Gertie Barrett

Gertie Barrett Park is a new neighborhood park in northwest Mansfield. It is tucked back from the main road with a decent sized parking lot. There is a playground, splash pad, walking trail, and pavilions with grills. 

The splash pad is free and open 10 AM to 8 PM April 22, 2023 - October 1, 2023. This splash pad is very nice and new! For more information on the splash pad click here. 

The playground has various climbing equipment, slides, and swings. There are two different sized playground structures for different ages. The splash pad is on the other side of a courtyard from the playground, but still in easy view. The playground has a rubber ground which is great for small children. There are several shade structures and trees around the playground that should help it stay cooler in the summer. There are two pavilions, one next to the playground and one next to the splash pad that help provide some relief from the sun. The splash pad ground is painted concrete, but the temperature should be fine as long as the water is turned on. 

There is a walking trail on the back side of the park along with grassy area for open play. There is a restroom with changing tables and a bottle filling water fountain. This park is a great addition to Mansfield!
