Main Library
The Main branch of the Grand Prairie Library system has been renovated, and looks very nice and modern. This branch offers several children's programs throughout the week and has a nice pretend play area in the children's section.
The toys in the children's section range from a play kitchen, manipulative wall, puppet stage, blocks, dolls, and many other toys. The toys are usually in good condition. After your kid cleans up their toys, stop by the front desk before you leave for a sticker! The children's section is set apart so that kids can play as happily as they want without disturbing other patrons. There is a wide opening into the section, but it can be easily monitored, especially if kids are playing with the toys.
There are many comfy reading spots throughout the children's section, along with lots of books and several computers. The children's section is very inviting to children and a great place to spend some time.
The program room in the children's section is pretty large and there is lots of space for plenty of families to join in the programs. The program room is nature themed and has a fake tree in one corner. They have an additional room at the back of the library where they can also hold programs. There are 4 meeting rooms available for use as well. The library also has created a Library of Things for patrons to checkout. It includes many things from baking kits to sewing machines. Check out what they have to offer here.
This branch, and the Grand Prairie Library system in general, create a lot of great programs for kids in addition to the normal storytimes. You can check out programs held at the Main branch by clicking here and searching main.
